While OPC UA offers significant advantages, establishing routes that connect networks across segments without boundary restrictions can create security holes. The one-way restricted OWCD enables "OPC UA communication" that prevents intrusions across segments, starting from IT to OT. Even with the use of firewalls and switches, maintenance can be cumbersome, and mistakes can occur, with older firmware potentially failing to prevent intrusions. The OWCD "OPC UA" does not require configuration for one-way communication, making it hassle-free and reliable.
