While OPC UA offers significant advantages, establishing routes that connect networks across segments without boundary restrictions can create security vulnerabilities. The OWCD, which restricts communication to one direction, enables "OPC UA communication" that prevents intrusions across segments, starting from IT to OT. Even with firewalls and switches, maintenance can be cumbersome, and mistakes can occur, while outdated firmware may fail to prevent intrusions. The OWCD "OPC UA" does not require configuration for one-way communication, ensuring a hassle-free and reliable solution.
